Liv Schaffer, a Chicago native, is a performer, choreographer, and educator based in Oakland, California. Liv received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance with a minor in Religious Studies from Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California in 2013. Liv spent the 2013-2015 seasons performing with DanceWorks Chicago under the direction of Julie Nakagawa, and has spent subsequent seasons performing with AXIS Dance Company & Robert Moses' Kin.
Liv is on faculty at the University of San Francisco where she teaches contemporary dance and directs the University’s intergenerational dance company, Dance Generators. Liv embraces employment opportunity nationwide: developing integrative curriculum, educating dancers, performing, and creating choreographic commissions with organizations such as Dance Exchange, Jacob's Pillow Curriculum in Motion®, The JUNTOS Collective, LINES Dance Center, Shawl Anderson Dance Center and Youth Art Exchange.
